Q. What are my rights as a consumer visiting Australia? How do I make a complaint about a business I've encountered while visiting Australia?

While visiting Australia you are covered by Australia's consumer protection laws, which require all businesses to treat consumers fairly. Consumer information for travellers is available on the Austrade consumer rights page.

If you believe you have been treated unfairly by a business while in Australia, first raise your concerns directly with the business involved. If you are unhappy with their response, refer to the Austrade consumer rights page regarding lodging feedback or a complaint.
