Tourism Australia, in partnership with Japan’s leading wedding publisher Zexy and tour operator JTB, launched a campaign last week targeting the lucrative honeymoon market.
Supported by Tourism and Events Queensland and Gold Coast Tourism, the campaign aims to reach more than one million couples in the first month alone with stories related to ‘happiness’ from key honeymoon destinations around Australia.
Zexy’s print and digital media will be used to inspire couples supported by a call to action to book one of JTB’s Australian honeymoon packages. Australia is currently ranked fifth as a preferred honeymoon destination for Japanese newly-weds. The campaign will run until May next year.
For the 12 months to August 2015, Japan was Australia’s seventh largest inbound market for visitor arrivals (321,000).
