'Restaurant Australia' rolls into France

Parisians will be able to experience a taste of Australia from a ‘Restaurant Australia’ food truck as it makes its way through the French capital over the next few weeks.

The ‘Restaurant Australia’ food truck, run by Tourism Australia in partnership with Etihad Airways and Tourism Victoria, is part of an integrated campaign to promote unique Australian culinary tourism experiences to young French travellers.

The food truck will make a number of appearances across Paris between 12 September and 4 October offering the public and media ‘Restaurant Australia’ campaign material as well as samples of superb Australian fare prepared by well-known Top Chef contestant Alexis Branconnier.

France’s Best Jobs winner Elisa Detrez will also appear as a special guest on four occasions to share her favourite Australian food experiences first-hand with guests and via her social networks.

French travellers and food truck visitors will be enticed to “invite Australia to their dinner table” through a Facebook competition with a gourmet trip to Victoria flying with Eithad Airways to be won.

The food truck launched on Friday 12 September and was featured on Lefigaro.fr, one of France’s leading online newspapers with approximately 46 million views a month. 

The campaign also includes online and social media promotion as well as radio spots promoting Australia as a world-class food and wine destination and Etihad Airway’s special fare to Melbourne.
