‘Restaurant Australia’ tempts Italian taste buds

Milan-based gastronomes were invited to experience a week of Australian food and wine events in gourmet marketplace Eataly last month.

The week’s program included a live cooking demonstration by Italian TV personality Chef Rubio as well as an Australian wine tasting event.

Sydney based Italian-Australian chef Luca Ciano created an Australian menu in a pop-up restaurant within the store.

An industry event and the annual Italian Ozcars Awards for Italian industry members were also hosted at Eataly during the week.

Tourism Australia is also running a ‘Restaurant Australia’ promotion in partnership with where online visitors can find out which gourmet types they are and win a trip to Australia with Etihad Airways and Italian tour operator Naar.

The promotion runs until the end of June.
