Australia on show at Garuda Travel Fairs in Indonesia

Tourism Australia and Garuda Indonesia have embarked on a joint marketing campaign, marking a milestone in the longstanding partnership.
Launched at the end of September, Australia was the featured destination at the Garuda Travel Fairs in Jakarta and Surabaya. The multi-channel campaign focusses on showcasing new and exciting Australian holiday experiences to Indonesian travellers, encouraging first-time and return visits with Garuda to the airline’s key gateway cities, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
Results from the Jakarta fare indicate a 70 per cent increase in bookings to Australia over the same travel fare in 2014.
Indonesia is currently Australia’s twelfth largest inbound market for visitor arrivals. For the 12 months to August 2015 there were 151,400 visitors from Indonesia, an increase of 1.7 per cent relative to the previous year.
