A program offered to Bachelor of Commerce students at the University of New South Wales has selected three students to spend two weeks at Tourism Australia in Shanghai, China.
The project involves working across three divisions of Tourism Australia, to identify potential new clients for business events to increase business tourism from China to Australia.
The students—Judy Zhu, Katelin Zhang and Jennifer Bao—will develop practical business competencies while working on genuine business challenges.
Tourism Australia’s People & Culture Business Partner, Mary Mansour, says the partnership highlights the importance Tourism Australia places on developing talent. “Tourism Australia partners with UNSW to provide students studying Business/Commerce with an interest in the tourism industry, with an opportunity to gain workplace experience.
This program not only supports students who will one day become key industry experts, it also provides valuable insights into Australian Tourism to one of our ever-growing and key markets being China.”
In addition to the partnership with the University of New South Wales, Tourism Australia offers the Maggie White Students and Graduates Program, which provides a range of internship, cadetship and graduate opportunities.
