Adventurous Australian Travel Experiences On Show

5 October 2016
Tourism Australia was a sponsor of the Adventure Travel Trade Association's Adventure Travel World Summit in Alaska last week, a gathering of 850 adventure tour operators, buyers, agents and media from around the world.
Adventurous Australian experiences were promoted through one-on-one meetings with Australian product and international buyers and media, the Australia Adventure Advocate Group and a closing presentation featuring a video showcasing great experiences Down Under.
Australia is in high demand for adventure activities with strong traveller interest in walking, cycling, fishing, cultural, diving, wildlife and rafting amongst other experiences.
The Adventure Tourism Index 2016 ranks Australia at number seven in the top 10 countries for adventure travel, especially for its custom itineraries, soft and cultural adventure.
The Australia Adventure Advocate Group (ATTA) was established in North America to help develop outbound business to Australia, provide industry feedback within the adventure sector and grow the profile of Australia as an adventure destination.
For more details on Tourism Australia’s ATTA partnership contact Sarah Postler, Tourism Australia's Distribution Development Manager for the Americas.
Tourism Australia attended the 2016 Adventure Travel World Summit alongside Great Walks of Australia and five Australian state tourism organisations: Tourism and Events Queensland, Visit Victoria, Tourism Northern Territory, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Tourism Western Australia.
Destination NSW and Tourism Tasmania are also ATTA members and support activity in the adventure segment in North America.
