Aussie Specialists invited to become 'Australian Ambassadors'
30 October 2018
Tourism Australia has launched a global competition for qualified Aussie Specialist travel sellers to come Down Under on a famil and create inspirational content that will educate other agents on the country’s diverse tourism experiences and destinations.
The lucky ‘Aussie Specialist Ambassadors’ will join a tailor-made trip around Australia in March 2019 to create inspirational content that will add another colourful dimension to the award-winning Aussie Specialist training program.
Tourism Australia Managing Director John O’Sullivan said agents are a critical part of the travel distribution system and the new Aussie Specialist Ambassador initiative was all about peer-to-peer advocacy.
“We want these Aussie Specialist Ambassadors to come Down Under, have a fantastic time experiencing our world-class tourism products and share their enthusiasm and insights with other travel agents in their home market.”
“We hope content created by the Ambassadors will help other Aussie Specialists improve their product knowledge, encourage more travel agents to sign up to the program and ultimately help more people book fantastic Australian holidays.”
The competition will open progressively through the first-half of November to qualified Aussie Specialists in the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, New Zealand and Indonesia and will extend to other Asian markets in the new year.
The Aussie Specialist Program is an award-winning training program that provides frontline travel sellers from around the globe with the knowledge and skills to best sell Australia and is supported by all State & Territory tourism partners. It is available in 11 languages across 15 key markets and currently includes over 30,000 qualified Aussie Specialists worldwide.
