An impressive 98 per cent of international buyers and Australian sellers have expressed their satisfaction with the 2018 Australian Tourism Exchange held recently in Adelaide.
Of those who responded to the post-event survey, 97 per cent of buyers said they expected to sell more Australian tourism product as a result of the four days of focused business appointments and networking events. 91 per cent of buyers also said the event represented value for money, and improved their capability to sell Australia as a tourism destination.
Significantly, 96 per cent of attendees indicated their strong intention to attend ATE in future years. Trade, Tourism and Investment Minister, the Hon Steven Ciobo said ATE continued to provide an effective and efficient platform for the industry to sell itself internationally.
“This is the flagship event for the Australian tourism industry, which continues to deliver fantastic outcomes for everyone involved, particularly the 2,200 delegates who participated in more than 45,000 appointments over four days,” he said.
The Australian Tourism Exchange is the largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event in the southern hemisphere. It provides a forum for Australian tourism businesses to showcase their products and establish business links with the people and organisations that take tourism to the international marketplace.
Organised by Tourism Australia in conjunction with South Australia Tourism Commission Tourism, and airline partners Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways, ATE18 brought together 2,200 Australian delegates from 540 Australian tourism businesses to meet with 670 key buyer delegates from 30 countries.
ATE19 will be held in Perth from 8 to 12 April 2019.
