Accor launches “Greatest Australian” competition

6 May 2015

The largest hotel group in Australia, Accor, has launched a new campaign to encourage Australians to holiday in Australia this winter.

The star of the campaign Mitch, a laid-back Kiwi, teases Australian's into taking the “Greatest Australian Online Test” to see how much of Australia they have seen and therefore “how Australian they really are”.

The fun promotion then challenges Australians to see more of their country and stay at one of Accor’s 200 hotels across Australia (brands including Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, The Sebel, Novotel, Mercure and ibis) with a weekly prize draw of $100 Accor Hotels gift cards and a grand prize of $2,000.

The campaign launched this week with marketing activity continuing to August when the winner of the grand prize is announced.

The Greatest Australian promotion will be featured in print ads, magazine editorials, radio spots as well as online and through social media.

Accor first entered the Australian market in 1991 with Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour and has since grown rapidly employing over 10,000 staff and operating hotels and resorts in every state and territory.

Take the test.
