Australia’s Indigenous cuisine showcased in Canada
Tourism Australia hosted a cooking class for 16 top Canadian media led by Friend of Australia Chef Mark Olive on 29 November in Vancouver. Tourism Australia shared an overview of its Discover Aboriginal Experiences program highlighting the variety of Aboriginal tourism products on offer throughout the country. Mark demonstrated his Kangaroo Bolognese recipe, using Indigenous ingredients, while weaving in stories of Australian Indigenous culture and food. Media learnt about Aboriginal foodways and culinary traditions, to keep their readers and audiences inspired as Australia prepares to reopen to Canadian travellers.
