Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) PATA is the recognised authority on Pacific Asia travel and tourism and provides marketing, research and educational opportunities to a membership of government tourist offices, airlines, hotels, travel agencies, tour operators and related companies. PATA provides leadership to the collective efforts of nearly 100 government, state and city tourism bodies, over 55 airlines and cruise lines, and hundreds of travel industry companies. More»
World Tourism Organisation (WTO) The WTO is an inter-governmental body entrusted by the United Nations towards the promotion and development of tourism. WTO's membership includes 150 countries and territories and more than 350 affiliate members representing local government, tourism associations and private sector companies, including airlines, hotel groups and tour operators. World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) WTTC is the global business leaders' forum for travel and tourism. Its members are chief executives from all sectors of industry, including accommodation, catering, entertainment, recreation, transportation and other travel-related services. More»
Government
Australian Standing Committee on Tourism (ASCOT) The Committee's main objective is to improve co-operation and co-ordination of Government policies and activities as they affect tourism. ASCOT normally meets twice annually, the Chair rotates annually and the Department provides the secretariat. ASCOT comprises representatives of the relevant Ministers´ departments and Tourism Australia.
ADS Joint Monitoring Group The ADS Joint Monitoring Group meet to discuss issues relevant to the ongoing development of both the ADS group leisure sector and the wider China inbound market. Based on these discussions the JMG develop strategies aimed at enhancing the overall tourism experience for Chinese visitors. JMG members include the Commonwealth Departments of Industry, Tourism and Resources, and Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs; Tourism Australia; Australian Tourism Export Council; Tourism Victoria and representation ADS operators.
Japan Australia Advisory Group (JAAG) The Japan Australia Advisory Group (JAAG) was the first group formed and comprises of the highest level of representation from the major travel agencies and trade organisations including the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) who have committed to deliver one million visitors to Australia by 2010 as part of Vision One Million.
Tourism Ministers' Council The main role of the Tourism Ministers´ Council (TMC) is to facilitate consultation and policy co-ordination between members on tourism matters. Council members include Ministers responsible for tourism from the Commonwealth, each State and Territory and New Zealand. Representatives from Norfolk Island and Papua New Guinea hold observer status. The TMC meets annually more frequently, if required - and the Chair rotates annually.
Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) provides quarantine inspection for international passengers, cargo, mail, animals, plants, and animal or plant products arriving in Australia. They also inspect and certify a range of agricultural products exported from Australia. AQIS’s import and export inspection and certification is essential to maintain Australia’s highly favourable animal, plant and human health status and access to export markets. Quarantine controls at Australia’s borders also minimise the risk of exotic pests and diseases to protect Australia’s agriculture industries and environment. More»

Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation (AWBC) The Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation (AWBC) is the statutory authority established to support the Australian wine sector and improve the wine industry’s competitiveness and sustainability. Bed & Breakfast, Farmstay and Accommodation Australia Ltd (BBFAA) BBFAA is the national peak industry organisation for bed and breakfasts, farmstays, guesthouses, cottages and quality hosted self contained accommodation throughout all Australian states and territories. Business Events Council of Australia (BECA) The Business Events Council of Australia is a coalition of national associations with an interest in business events. BECA's members comprise the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB), the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA), the Australian Chapter of the International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA), the Australian Convention Centres Group (ACCG), Meetings and Events Australia (MEA), and MEA's Meeting Managers Special Interest Group. National Tourism Alliance (NTA) The National Tourism Alliance's (NTA) role is to coordinate policy and representation on behalf of the Australian tourism industry, maintain the presence of the tourism industry to the Federal Government and to coordinate the development of a National Tourism Policy. NTA members represent over 95% of tourism industry operators covering accommodation, airlines, car touring, inbound tourism, retail travel agencies, business tourism, meetings industry, farm and country tourism, youth hostels, retail, adventure operators and the caravan and camping industry.
