Tourism Australia is the Australian Government agency responsible for attracting international visitors to Australia, both for leisure and business events. We are acknowledged as one of the most innovative and successful tourism marketing organisations in the world.

Our workforce comprises around 220 people approximately half of whom are based in our head office in Sydney, Australia and half across 11 regional offices in Auckland, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.

Giving back to the community

Tourism Australia takes the ice bucket challenge (Sydney, September 2014)

Tourism Australia Managing Director John O'Sullivan responded to the Canadian Tourism Commission's call to brave the ice bucket challenge in Sydney in September to raise awareness and funds for Motor Neuron Disease (MND) – a serious degenerative nerve disease that claims two Australian lives every day. Filmed against a backdrop of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour, a koala and kangaroo delivered the drenching to Mr O'Sullivan who, despite chilly temperatures in Sydney of no more than 18C, said it was a "great cause" and he was only too happy to lend his support. Sun Herald City2Surf race (Sydney, August 2014)

On Sunday 10 August 2014, 18 staff members from Tourism Australia joined runners from all over the globe to take part in the iconic 14km Sun Herald City2Surf. City2Surf is a 'fun run' as well as a race, attracting both competitive runners and community participants who can choose to run or walk. The event attracted 80,000 entrants in 2014.

The Color Run (Sydney, 2014)

On Sunday 9 February, Team TA completed the happiest, most colourful 5km fun run on the planet – The Color Run. Twenty-one Sydney staff set their alarms for an early start and made their way out to Sydney Olympic Park to run, dance, laugh and get covered in colour. The Color Run is a 5km fun run, where participants run through a different colour every 1km as they make their way to the finish line. This event proved that running can actually be enjoyable and was a great way to kick start the New Year with a healthy lifestyle focus.
