Visitor arrival highlights for January 2017

  • There were 725,800 visitor arrivals during January, an increase of 17.0 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 8.37 million visitor arrivals for year ending January 2017, an increase of 11.4 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 853,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 13.8% per cent over the 12 month period. Arrivals for the purpose of employment is showing signs of softening for the same period.

Visitor arrival highlights for December 2016

  • There were 971,800 visitor arrivals during December increase of 8.1 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 8.26 million visitor arrivals for year ending December 2016, an increase of 11.0 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 819,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 13.7% per cent over the 12 month period. Arrivals for the purpose of employment is showing signs of softening for the same period.

Visitor arrival highlights for November 2016

  • There were 720,500 visitor arrivals during November increase of 7.7 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 8.19 million visitor arrivals for year ending November 2016, an increase of 11.3 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 832,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 14.6 per cent over the 12 month period. Arrivals for the purpose of employment is showing signs of softening for the same period.

Visitor arrival highlights for October 2016

  • There were 694,300 visitor arrivals during October 2016, an increase of 11.1 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 8.14 million visitor arrivals for year ending October 2016, an increase of 11.5 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 839,000visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 14.7 per cent over the 12 month period. Business travel is showing signs of softening, with declines of 0.7 per cent for the same period.

  • There were 647,200 visitor arrivals during September 2016, an increase of 13.2 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 8.07 million visitor arrivals for year ending September2016, an increase of 11.1 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 807,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 15.3 per cent over the 12 month period. Business travel is showing signs of softening, with declines of 1.2 per cent for the same period.

  • There were 632,600 visitor arrivals during August 2016, an increase of 10.2 per cent relative to the same period of the previous year.
  • This brings us to 7.99 million visitor arrivals for year ending August 2016, an increase of 10.9 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 786,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 15.3 per cent over the 12 month period. Business travel is showing signs of softening, with declines of 1.8 per cent for the same period.

  • This brings us to 7.94 million visitor arrivals for year ending July 2016, an increase of 10.6 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 763,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 14.8 per cent over the 12 month period. Business travel is showing signs of softening, with declines of 1.8 per cent for the same period.

  • This brings us to 7.34 million visitor arrivals for year ending November 2015, an increase of 7.2 per cent relative to the previous year. This represents an extra 492,000 visitors on the previous year. 
  • Leisure arrivals (Holiday + VFR) continued to drive international arrivals growth, with an increase of 7.1 per cent over the 12 month period. Business travel is showing signs of softening, with declines of 5.3 per cent in November 2015.
