Austrade, through the Office of Tourism and the Visitor Economy, works closely with Tourism Australia and leads work to support the sustainable growth and prosperity of Australia’s tourism industry and visitor economy. The Office of Tourism and the Visitor Economy:
Austrade and Tourism Australia are part of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Portfolio. Both organisations report to the Minister for Trade and Tourism.
Each state and territory in Australia has its own government tourism agency that works with industry. The role of the State Tourism Organisations (STOs) is to support the development and marketing of sustainable tourism destinations and experiences within their state, to increase awareness and attract visitors.
