COVID-19 information and support for the tourism industry
Australian, State, and Territory governments provide a range of support and relief assistance for tourism businesses.
On 1 October 2021, the Australian Government announced the return of international travel for fully vaccinated Australian citizens, in line with the country’s four-step national plan to transition Australia’s National COVID-19 Response.
Under the plan, Australian travellers will be able to leave Australian shores and return. The New South Wales Government has announced returning Australian travellers, with a TGA approved vaccine, will not have to quarantine at all. Other states and territories are working on their plans for quarantine.
In time Australia looks forward to once again welcoming international visitors from its key tourism markets around the world.
