TA Lunar New Year Celebration in Sydney
6 February 2019
More than 50 Australia-based Chinese inbound tour operators, airlines, state and territory representatives and ATEC gathered in Sydney last Friday for a Lunar New Year Luncheon hosted by Tourism Australia to welcome the 'Year of the Pig’.
Tourism Australia Managing Director John O'Sullivan greeted the guests and said China has been a critical market to Australia’s Tourism 2020 strategy goals and the major driver in achieving the plan’s visitor spend targets by the end of the decade.
“Longer-term, China will continue to be at the heart of Australia’s tourism strategy beyond 2020 and out to 2030,” he said.
