Tasmania on show at the Fly Fishing Championships

The World Fly Fishing Championships were recently held in Tasmania.

Twenty-three countries and 150 of the world’s best anglers competed in challenging conditions over five days in the rivers outside Launceston and in the lakes of the Central Highlands region.

Competitors were mesmerised by Tasmania’s rugged landscapes, incredible wildlife and world class trout fishing.

Many of the competitors are staying on to explore further. Tourism Australia supported the event through its Great Fishing Adventures of Australia collective.
